Digital Farming - Smart Farm Technology Workshop
We had a full house on Wednesday June 19 for our Smart Farm Technology Workshop held at Gilbert’s Winery, Kendenup. We were treated to an amazing lineup of quality AgTech speakers and some interesting discussions were had throughout the day.
Topics ranged from Control Centre ‘dashboards’ to facilitate on-farm decision making, hyper-local weather observations and forecasting, Farm data management, and Decipher nutrition technology. We were also able to hear from SCF member and Nuffield Scholar Andrew Slade about his scholarship travels investigating digital agriculture options around the world and sheep guru Geoff Duddy presented on improving efficiencies in sheep enterprises through incorporating technologies. There was plenty of opportunity to continue the discussions during the breaks, with delicious food and wine from our venue hosts, Gilbert’s Winery.
Thanks to the support from Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development - DPIRD ‘E-connected Grain belt’ project to enable us to put together such a valuable and informative day.
